Random thoughts whilst walking home...

When you walk over the Pont des Arts and see beneath your feet the water glisten black and blue, do not be fooled; for it is not the meer reflection of the stars. At night, though not known by many, Paris becomes an ocean. The ballrooms of the river Seine take life to invisible dances, and it is the brightness of their crystal chandeliers that you can see, not the light from above. When you catch a glimpse of the Eiffel Tower after dark, it is nolonger the tourist attraction you are looking at, but a lighthouse, which casts its light over the city, surveying the narrow caves and coves. Late night cafes filled with smiles and cigarres slowly ripple the spectators outwards to their respecive ships and yachts until the sun once again rises, and the underwater dancing stops.
